Christoph Rüffer

Since 2002, the gourmet menus at Restaurant Haerlin*** have borne the signature of Christoph Rüffer. The focus is on imaginative compositions that are characterised by fresh, seasonal products, skilfully combined flavours and sometimes surprising textures. Regionality and a love of the product meet the highest standards of culinary excellence.

Awarded 3 Michelin stars, 5 Gault&Millau toques, 4 ½ F's (Der Feinschmecker) and 3rd place in the Falstaff Restaurant Guide, among other accolades.

Tobias Günther has been Christoph Rüffer's right-hand man for more than 12 years. He is committed to modern, cosmopolitan cuisine, which he is constantly developing – he has become an indispensable member of the top team at Restaurant Haerlin***.

Starting at the Hotel Residence in Essen, the trained hotel manager found his way onto the MS Europa. Not only did he dream of one day calling the Hanseatic city of Hamburg his home, but also of working at the Haerlin*** Restaurant itself, even while out at sea. Today, Marius Jürke welcomes our guests to the Restaurant Haerlin*** with expertise and passion.

"It's just like at home. When we invite guests over, everything is nice and clean, the table is set, there's plenty of good food, and we're dressed up and looking forward to seeing our guests. We do the same thing at the hotel – only everything is a bit bigger."

The creativity and international influences are also reflected in the interior of Restaurant Haerlin***: Chinese silk wallpaper and delicate gold embossing harmonise perfectly with the soft cream and sage tones.

A real highlight for wine lovers is the custom-made wine cabinet made of glass and polished brass, which houses the finest wines and rare rarities – accompanied by an elegant sommelier high table. Since 1919, the four seasons have been immortalised in the restaurant as four artistic Nymphenburg porcelain cherubs, which lend the room a special timeless elegance.
